These Service Terms govern plumbing work performed by Thread Theory Plumbing LLC. The accepted estimate, approved changes, and applicable version of these Terms form the agreement for each job.
1. Agreement and Authorization
By approving service, the customer confirms that they own the property or are authorized to approve the work and charges. Electronic approvals and signatures may be relied upon as written authorization. Material changes to scope or price require additional documented approval.
Website information, advertising, and informal discussions do not modify a job-specific estimate. Website use is separately governed by the Website Terms of Use, and personal information is handled as described in the Privacy Policy.
2. Scheduling and Access
Arrival times are estimates unless expressly guaranteed in writing. Customers must provide safe, timely access to the work area, disclose known hazards, secure animals, and ensure an authorized adult or approved remote payer is available. Thread Theory Plumbing is not a 24/7 emergency service.
After-hours service is subject to availability and a 25% surcharge disclosed before dispatch.
3. Service Calls and Diagnostics
Thread Theory does not currently charge a standard service-call or diagnostic fee. If any visit-related charge applies, including an after-hours surcharge or a charge for specialized testing, it will be disclosed before dispatch or customer approval. Fee policies may change prospectively, but the charges applicable to a particular visit will be communicated before service is authorized.
Diagnosis is based on reasonably accessible conditions and does not guarantee that concealed or unrelated defects do not exist.
4. Estimates, Concealed Conditions, and Changes
Estimates describe the included work, price, assumptions, and exclusions. Conditions hidden behind walls, under floors, underground, within equipment, or otherwise not reasonably discoverable may require a revised scope and price. Thread Theory will explain material findings and obtain approval before performing additional work, except for reasonable steps needed to prevent immediate danger or damage when authorization cannot practicably be obtained.
If necessary added work is declined, Thread Theory may leave the affected system isolated or nonoperational when that is the reasonably safe result. The customer remains responsible for authorized labor and materials already provided.
5. Materials and Customer-Supplied Products
Company-supplied products remain subject to applicable manufacturer warranties. When Thread Theory installs a customer-supplied product, the customer is responsible for the product’s quality, completeness, compatibility, instructions, and manufacturer support. Product failure, missing parts, incompatibility, adaptation, removal, reinstallation, and return visits are not covered by Thread Theory’s workmanship warranty unless caused by Thread Theory’s installation.
Advance payment may be required for special-order, custom, or nonreturnable materials. Routine residential repairs do not otherwise require a standard deposit unless the estimate states approved project-specific payment terms.
6. Permits, Other Trades, and Restoration
Required permits and inspections will be handled as stated in the estimate. Thread Theory will not perform work it reasonably believes is unsafe, unlawful, or professionally improper. Another trade, utility, manufacturer, remediation provider, or structural professional may be required before plumbing work can continue.
Plumbing access may require opening walls, ceilings, floors, cabinets, concrete, landscaping, or finishes. Patching, painting, tile, cabinetry, concrete, landscaping, and other finish restoration are excluded unless expressly included.
7. Property Conditions and Documentation
Customers must disclose known defects and protect or remove fragile or valuable items from the work area. Thread Theory may photograph or record the work area, existing conditions, materials, testing, and completed work for job documentation, warranty administration, insurance, training, and legal protection. Customer-identifying images will not be used publicly for marketing without appropriate permission.
8. Completion and Payment
Payment is due according to the accepted estimate and invoice, generally upon substantial completion unless other written terms are approved. Supported secure electronic payments, checks, cash, and other stated methods may be accepted. Customers must not send complete card information by text or ordinary email.
Failed, reversed, or returned payments must be replaced. Undisputed amounts remain payable while a specific billing or workmanship concern is reviewed. Thread Theory may decline additional nonemergency service and pursue lawful collection or lien remedies for unpaid balances. No fee, interest, or collection cost will be charged unless disclosed and legally permitted.
9. Workmanship Warranty
Unless the estimate states otherwise, Thread Theory warrants its workmanship for 90 days from substantial completion. If Thread Theory’s workmanship causes a defect within the authorized scope, Thread Theory will correct the covered work without charge after a reasonable opportunity to inspect.
The workmanship warranty does not cover manufacturer or customer-supplied product failure, normal wear, misuse, abuse, freezing, neglect, lack of maintenance, pre-existing or unrelated conditions, water quality, movement or deterioration of surrounding systems, or work altered by the customer or another person. Emergency mitigation reasonably necessary to protect people or property does not automatically void coverage.
10. Concerns, Damage, and Remedies
Customers should notify Thread Theory promptly of any concern and take reasonable steps to prevent additional damage. Thread Theory may inspect the affected work to determine cause and remedy. Customers should provide a reasonable opportunity to inspect and correct Thread Theory’s work before it is altered by others, except when immediate action is reasonably necessary.
Refunds, credits, and repairs are determined according to the facts and documented scope. Thread Theory does not admit responsibility merely by inspecting, communicating, mitigating damage, or notifying an insurer.
11. Cancellation, Pausing, or Discontinuing Work
A customer may withdraw authorization or ask Thread Theory to stop work. Thread Theory will stop at a reasonably safe point. The customer remains responsible for authorized labor already performed; installed, used, opened, specially ordered, or nonreturnable materials; applicable disclosed restocking or return costs; and reasonable work necessary to isolate, protect, close, or safely leave the affected system.
Thread Theory may decline, pause, or discontinue work when conditions are unsafe, unlawful, inaccessible, unauthorized, materially changed, beyond its capabilities, affected by nonpayment or interference, or commercially unreasonable. If work has begun, Thread Theory will make reasonable efforts to stop at a safe point and explain the condition of the affected plumbing.
Threats, harassment, discriminatory abuse, unsafe animals, illegal activity, or conduct creating a reasonable safety concern may result in immediate departure and refusal of future service.
12. Delays Beyond Reasonable Control
Thread Theory is not responsible for reasonable delay caused by severe weather, emergency, utility interruption, road closure, illness or injury, material shortage, supplier or manufacturer delay, permit or inspection delay, unsafe conditions, customer or third-party acts, government action, or another circumstance beyond reasonable control. Thread Theory will communicate regarding rescheduling or available options.
13. Records, Privacy, and Communications
Thread Theory maintains service, authorization, payment, warranty, and related records as reasonably necessary for customer service, accounting, insurance, legal compliance, and protection of both parties. Information may be shared with service providers, processors, manufacturers, insurers, accountants, attorneys, authorities, or other parties as reasonably necessary for those purposes and as described in the Privacy Policy.
Important notices may be delivered through the customer’s provided email, mobile number, customer portal, or mailing address. Customers are responsible for accurate contact information.
14. General Terms
A courtesy, accommodation, fee waiver, or goodwill service does not modify the agreement unless confirmed in writing. If one provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to the fullest extent permitted by law. Florida law governs, subject to rights that cannot lawfully be waived. These Terms do not require mandatory arbitration or waive a customer’s right to bring a lawful claim in court.
Customer Acknowledgment
By approving the estimate, I confirm that I am authorized to approve the work and charges; I have received or can access the estimate and applicable Service Terms; and I agree to the approved scope, pricing, payment terms, and Service Terms.
Electronic acceptance recorded by QuoteIQ may satisfy this acknowledgment when the audit record preserves the customer, accepted estimate, applicable Terms version, date, and time.
